It’s easy to create Instagram Stories, but if you want to make them truly entertaining, you must put a lot of thought into it. There are a number of tools you can use on Instagram to make your stories as fun as possible.
It’s easy to layer cool filters and stickers on top of your favorite photos or videos, but your story is still lacking one key element: music. You can choose tunes from Instagram’s library and your favorite music streaming services, like Spotify(Opens in a new window), SoundCloud(Opens in a new window), and Shazam. Check out this guide to music and Instagram.
How to Add Music to an Instagram post
Music can be added directly to your story using Instagram’s library. Then go to Story on the bottom navigation bar by tapping the plus (+) icon. Once the photo or video is taken, you can select Your Story by long-pressing Your Story and then tapping Add to Your Story. You can also swipe to the right after you open your camera.
Snap a photo or video using the camera screen. To add photos to your library, swipe up and select them. If you want, you can apply filters or special effects. Tap the Sticker icon, then tap the Music sticker to add a tune to your story.
Find a tune by browsing the different sections and genres on the Music screen. Additionally, you can search for music by song, artist, or album using the search field at the top of the screen. Do you have a favorite song? You can listen to a short clip by pressing the Play button.
Tap the song you wish to include in your story when you’re ready. You can choose what sound clip (up to 15 seconds) will play over your story by scrolling through the song. You can add sections by moving the slider bar.
You can change the image of some songs by tapping the music thumbnail. The lyrics of some songs are displayed on the screen as the music plays. You can add the song as a sticker to your story once you’re satisfied with the image you’ve chosen.
A sticker will appear in your story once you have selected your song. Your finger can be tapped to move the sticker around the screen to choose where it will appear in your story. Two fingers can be used to pinch or expand the sticker to change its size. The sticker can be rotated by twisting two fingers together.
Have you got a sticker you don’t like? When you double-tap it, you’ll be taken back to the previous screen, where you can make changes to the sticker’s appearance. You can return to your story by tapping Done.
Do you dislike the way your sticker appears? You can do even more with your sticker before posting the story. You can pin the sticker to a particular person or object in the video by holding it down. As the object moves in the video, the sticker will follow along.
Your story with music will be published once you’ve finished tweaking the music. As an alternative, you can either tap Close Friends to send it to a custom group of people, or tap Send To and choose which users should receive it.
You can view your story by tapping the Your Story icon. Music automatically plays as you read your story. Using the song label pauses the music and brings up a window at the bottom through which you can save the music or send it to another Instagram user. In the same way, your followers can view your story and listen to the music.
How to Add Music From the Spotify App
From the Spotify app, you can add music to your Instagram story. When a song is playing on Spotify, tap the ellipsis icon and select Share.
